Why schools
South Sudan has one of the lowest adult literacy rates in the world, and decades of conflict kept a whole generation out of the classroom. Every child who finishes primary school changes that arithmetic slightly.
Our schools are run by the Diocese of Wau and open to children of any faith. Many of our pupils are the first in their family to attend school at all.

Every school day
Every school day, 35,000 children across five states receive a midday meal through our school feeding programme. For a hungry family, the promise of that meal is often the deciding factor in whether a child is sent to school or sent to work.
Attendance and feeding are the same problem. We treat them that way.
